Xanthates are a group of chemicals commonly used in sulfide flotation in the mining industry. Common xanthogenate products are sodium ethylxanthate (SEX), sodium isopropylxanthate (SIPX), sodium isobutylxanthate (SIBX), and potassium amylxanthate (PAX).
